Folktales of India- Tales form Karnataka: The Grand General

Team Trip has created “Folktales of India” as a collection of short films, showcasing the rich and diverse tales from the Indian subcontinent with unique art styles and morals.

“Folktales of India- Tales form Karnataka: The Grand General”, is based on a true story about a child and his grandfather, who was a General in the British Army. It is inspired by the Karnatakan Togalu Gombeyaata, a form of shadow puppetry, made with colored goat-skin leather, still practiced to this day. The film was an Official Selection at the SOHO International Film Festival, 2023 as well as the Animator’s Guild of India Fest, 2022.
